Next government identifies 13 highways to be modernized – Grupo Milenio

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) reported that within the transition works with the next government have been identified 13 road axes in the country that will begin to modernize from next year.

In conference with the College of Civil Engineers of Mexico (CICM), the head of SICT, Jorge Nuño Lara, pointed out that these communication channels They are found in the northern part of the country, the center and the southeast.

The official explained that these 13 road axes require a modernization significantly, since they have a high automobile traffic.

Nuño Lara specified that some of these works will be carried out in the communication channel which goes from Los Cabos to Tijuana, Guaymas-Ciudad Juarez, Mochis-Chihuahua, San Luis Potosi-Piedras Negras.

In the part center of the countryThe highway axes that will be sought to be modernized are Toluca-Zihuatanejo, Cuautla-Marquelia, Pachuca-Tamazunchale, and the expansion in Puebla.

“We are identifying the segments where intervention is necessary, but we are also looking at the moments in which other communication channels will have to be addressed,” said the head of SICT.

In the modernization plans regarding the southeast of the country were identified road axles from Salina Cruz-Zihuatanejo, Oaxaca-Tuxtepec, Tuxpan-Tampico and Tuxtla Gutierrez-Comalapa Border.

Jorge Nuño Lara pointed out that the current administration of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador had a special emphasis on the road infrastructure and generate social value for people, both in their personal spheres and in improving their businesses.

“For the modernization of the roads during the current government, there was inter-institutional collaboration with all other federal government departments, from the Secretariat of various branches to organizations such as the National Water Commission (Conagua),” said the official.

“With this work we were able to unblock many projects that were delayed several times and generated pending issues with all the communities.”
