In the context of International Day of the Girlcommemorated every October 11, the organization Plan International activated its campaign Safe Girls to raise awareness about the importance of preventing violence against the girls in a situation of mobility and to promote I respect of their rights.
“The humanitarian crisis has led many girls and adolescents to situations of extreme vulnerability. The violence to which they were exposed in their countries of origin often increases during transit,” mentioned Plan International.
Furthermore, according to the latest studies of International Planit was found that “70% of mobile girls, boys and adolescents report that they were forced to leave their countries due to various forms of violence, including extortion, threats, sexual and domestic violence.”

In this same context, through the campaign Safe GirlsPlan International, seeks to demonstrate the needs specific to girls so that in their “nearby environments live free of violence”.

“The protection of girls on the move must be a priority in humanitarian responses. We cannot ignore the serious violations of their rights or the violence they face in their transit,” says Pierre Coupeau, Country Representative of Plan International Mexico.
“It is essential that we articulate efforts to guarantee their safety, access to basic services and psychosocial support, ensuring their well-being and comprehensive development,” he added.
