Mexican peso depreciates due to concerns about US elections
The Mexican peso fell with 0.25 percenton Friday, October 18, 2024, closing at 19.88 units per dollar.
However, the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) rose after a volatile day marked by growing concerns about an eventual electoral victory of donald trump of the next US elections.
During the session several Federal Reserve officials made public statements, including the chairman of the Atlanta Fed Bank Raphael Bosticwho indicated that he will be patient when it comes to cutting the interest rates.
