Peso depreciates 0.61% 15 days before the US elections
The Mexican peso depreciated 0.61 percentan equivalent of 12.2 cents, closing at 19.97 units per dollar, the Monday October 21 of 2024.
During the session, the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) failed to maintain the positive momentum recorded on Friday, when the S&P/BMV IPC index closed with an increase of 1.07 percentdriven by the consumer goods and staples industrial sectors.
Due to the upcoming presidential elections in the United States, according to specialists, the national currency begins to suffer from uncertainty of this event.
Likewise, it was highlighted that the possibility cannot be ruled out that Donald Trump wins and that he fulfills some of these promises that he is making during the campaign.
