Security Cabinet will travel to Sinaloa due to increase in violence – Grupo Milenio

The security cabinet of the government of the President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo will move this Tuesday to Culiacan, Sinaloagiven the increase in violence in recent weeks.

During the morning conference, in which the security strategy of the incoming federal government was presented, Omar GarcĂ­a Harfuchholder of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), announced that, as part of this visit, they will also meet with the governor of the entity, Ruben Rocha.

“Today, by instructions of the Dr. Claudia SheinbaumWe, members of the security cabinet, will travel to Culiacán to supervise tasks and also meet with the governor. It is very important to work hand in hand with permanent mechanisms of active collaboration,” he explained.

In the Treasury room, President Sheinbaum Pardo explained that the entity will comprehensively implement the security strategy presented this Tuesday, although she also asked not to forget the origin of this violence, in reference to the arrest of Ishmael May Zambadaleader of a faction of the Sinaloa cartel.

“In Sinaloa a series of actions were carried out, so today the general secretary, the security cabinet, is going to evaluate these actions. Yesterday there were nine homicides in Culiacán, so these actions are going to be evaluated, they are going to meet with the governor, see how far we can advance and what other things can be done, it is not that it will be resolved in one day, “But we must also remember what is the cause of the origin of this violence that was unleashed in Sinaloa, so we are going to act and we are working on these axes that were proposed as a comprehensive strategy,” he stressed.
