The Secretary of the Navy (Semar) through the Mexican Navy in Coast Guard functions, reported that naval personnel from the Tenth Naval Region secured approximately 3.2 tons of probable cocaineLikewise, the arrest of seven people was achieved off the coast of Manzanillo, Colimain two different actions.
In a first action, during maritime surveillance patrols, naval personnel aboard a surface unit of the Mexican Navy located beaconed packages floating in the seawhich inside contained alleged cocaine, weighing approximately 1.8 tons.
In a second action, naval personnel seized an illicit cargo weighing approximately 1.4 tons, and seven people were also detained.
It should be noted that both the detainees and the alleged narcotics seized were made available to the Attorney General’s Officein order for the ministerial authority to integrate the corresponding investigation folders.
In a statement, the agency highlighted that “these actions are part of the maritime, air and land surveillance operations carried out by the Secretary of the Navy, through the Mexican Navy, to inhibit criminal action in order to guarantee and maintain the rule of law at sea.”
