SHANE Lowry continued his solid round on round three of the Accione Open de Espana.
The Irishman had a horror opening round on Thursday but surged back in Madrid as he carded a five under round on Friday.

He added to his pre-round total on -1 with a third round 68 at Club de Campo Villa in the Spanish capital to head into tomorrow’s final round on four under par in T14 position.
Offaly ace Lowry revealed the reason behind the bump in fortunes after a his first round 75 – a late night out with Ryder Cup pal Tyrrell Hatton.
Speaking after his second round, world number 29 Lowry told media that he’d one too many glasses of wine with the LIV Golf star.
He said: “If I’m being honest, I had dinner with Tyrrell Hatton last night.
“We had a couple too many glasses of wine! Maybe that made me play a bit freer today.
“I kind of went out and played carefree, this is a funny old game. On to the weekend.”
Hatton is one shot better off than Lowry after a penultimate round of 66 in Spain.
Elsewhere, two-time major winner and LIV Golf 2024 individual champion is just two-strokes off the summit of the leaderboard.
He’s currently a couple behind fellow Spaniard Angel Hidalgo with just a few holes left on their second round.
World number 398 Hidalgo leads on – 12.
His LIV Golf colleague David Puig joins him on ten under on the largely Spanish dominated leaderboard.
Four of the top five are in contention at their home open.
