The elected president, Claudia Sheinbaumannounced that, as it is a “republican act”, there will be representation from the federal Judiciary, without specifying whether it will be Minister Norma Piña, president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN).
Upon arriving at her transition house in the Iztapalapa mayor’s office, Sheinbaum Pardo also said she was happy, but at the same time melancholy, a few hours to receive the presidential sash from the hands of the still president Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
“Happy, there is melancholy with the affection we have for President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his retirement from public life, but at the same time with a lot of responsibility and ready for what is coming.”
“There will be the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, it is a republican act, there is the Congress of the Union, there is the Supreme Court and there are the governors.”
This session of the General Congress in the Legislative Palace of San Lázaro this Tuesday will begin at 9 in the morning, and after the intervention of a legislator from each parliamentary group represented, Claudia Sheinbaum will arrive 10 minutes before 11 in the morning to protest as constitutional president of Mexico.
The still elected president will be received on the steps of said building by a commission of legislators, to immediately resume the session in which the outgoing president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, delivers the presidential sash to the president of the General Congress, deputy Ifigenia Martínezwho in turn delivers it to Sheinbaum Pardo, before she takes oath before the Congress of the Union as constitutional president.
