Some Democrats suffering serious case of Biden remorse

Some second-guessing Democrats and Joe Biden loyalists are suffering a serious case of Biden remorse — regretting knocking him out of the race as Kamala Harris continues to stumble.

One of the Democrats who may be regretting the Biden-Harris switch is Barack Obama, who was caught on video agreeing with President Biden that Harris “is not as strong as me.”

“That’s true,” Obama reportedly said, according to a lip reading expert interviewed by the New York Post.

The somber conversation occurred during a memorial service for the late Ethel Kennedy.

“We have time,” Obama added.

White House officials denied any such conversation took place.

Still, there’s a sense that Obama appears to be only going through the motions for Harris and has not enthusiastically praised her enough.

Biden is traveling to New Hampshire on Tuesday, which could rekindle fond memories for the beleaguered 81-year-old president.

It’s the first trip to the Granite State for Biden since he dropped out of the race. He’s scheduled to speak at an official White House event about lowering prescription drug costs, but it is not a campaign event for Harris.

Some Democrats and White House officials remain convinced that Biden would have stood a better chance at beating Republican Donald Trump, despite serious concerns about his age and mental acuity.

Biden is a proven winner, having beaten Trump in 2020 and when he was on the ticket as Obama’s vice president.

Harris has no such winning record on the national stage and in fact her first campaign for president was a disaster.

The tension between the Biden and Harris camps are starting to flare into the media landscape. Axios reported that the two sides continue to bicker about the campaign and about Biden’s sometimes unwanted comments. Harris aides bristled when Biden praised Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s handling of the hurricane aftermath after Harris refused to meet with the Florida governor.

Democrats now appear to be divided over whether knocking Biden out of the race was a mistake, although polls from before Biden dropped out showed that most Americans thought another Democrat should replace him at the top of the ticket.

But that was before Harris began making stumbles that have caused her poll numbers to stagnate and some Democrats to question whether she’s the right choice for nominee.

In a softball interview with the women of “The View” Harris bungled a question about what she would have done differently from Biden if she was president, failing to come up with a single thing.

The Harris campaign had to quickly do damage control after that gaffe. Harris also made a mess out of her interview on Fox News, mangling her attempt to reach out to undecided Republicans.

Some polls now show Donald Trump leading Harris in battleground states like Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia. If Trump wins those states he will be elected president.
