TARGET EXCLUSIVE

What I Ate in One Year (Signed Copy)

The signed copy is a Target exclusive, meaning you won’t be able to find it anywhere else online. As with all Target exclusives, quantities are limited so fans of Tucci will want to get their hands on a copy of the actor’s new book while it’s still in stock. See full details here.

From publishers Simon & Schuster, “What I Ate in One Year” tells the story of Tucci’s life through food, from memorable meals on set, to favorite dishes he makes with his family. Each entry in this “food diary” is accompanied by a story surrounding the meal — and the people he shared the meal with. A prime example: the book begins in January 2023, when the actor was in Rome to film the Vatican-set drama, “Conclave.” and he dishes (pun intended) about going to dinner with fellow cast members John Lithgow and Isabella Rossellini at a restaurant that Rossellini’s mother, Ingrid Bergman, used to frequent.

As the publisher notes state, “The meals memorialised in this diary are a prism for [Tucci] to reflect on the ways his life, and his family, are constantly evolving. Through food he marks–and mourns–the passing of time, the loss of loved ones, and steels himself for what is to come.”

Tucci writes amusingly in the book’s intro that, “there are no dreams about food that I remember,” though he adds that “I dream a lot about death.” And so: “I’ve always imagined that there are three possible experiences waiting for us when we die,” he says.

“The first is that we die, and then we are simply no more.” The second, he notes, “is that we die and we find that death is a long meal with terrible food.”

“The third,” Tucci writes, “is that we die and find that death is a table resplendently set with an extraordinary meal for us and all those we’ve ever loved to share for the rest of eternity. If possible, when my time comes,” he concludes, “I’ll let you know which one awaits.”

Find Tucci’s new book as a regular edition on Amazon or as an exclusive signed edition at Target. This is Tucci’s fourth book, following “Taste: My Life Through Food” and two cookbooks, “The Tucci Table” and “The Tucci Cookbook.”
