At the morning conference at the National Palace, where the latest report of the section’s six-year term was presented “The Pulse of Health”the president said he was happy with the results achieved in his six-year term and also because the universal health project will have continuity with the next president.
“I would like to tell you that we are happy, we have made a lot of progress in education, in health, which was more complicated, we have made progress, things were worse after privatization, after the period of looting, the health sector was worse than the education sector.
“There were more protests with the so-called educational reform, but it was more harmful, only silent, the privatization of the health sector and getting it back on its feet and raising it cost us more in every sense, but it is already there, it is already standing. It must be consolidated, but I insist, I repeat, I have confidence because Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum is very sensitive,” he said.
The president commented that his administration will be distinguished because it sought to guarantee the right to free health care and the privatization of the sector initiated by previous governments was halted.
He admitted that the 100 percent of specialist doctors and nursing staff have yet to be reached because it has not been easy to reverse the advances of neoliberal policies.
“I was saying that there are still things left to do, but I am, as in other aspects, very happy because in a few days I will hand over the presidential sash to a very sensitive woman who I am sure will continue this plan that is unique, also on a global level,” he said.
Therefore, he took the opportunity to thank the members of the health cabinet for the work carried out during this six-year term, especially Zoe Robledo because he rejected a candidacy to stay to consolidate the Imss Welfare.
In his speech, Robledo He considered the progress that has been made in health to be a feat and said that with the second floor of the Fourth Transformation, the utopia in this sector.
“Mr. President, thank you for your trust. It has always been an honor to have accompanied you and to always defend and care for your legacy,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Health, Jorge Alcocermentioned that in the next administration we will continue working in the same direction as this administration.
“I am convinced that the President of Mexico will continue to uphold the pillars that have been built on by minorities that have condemned our country to underdevelopment for decades. Mr. President, I thank you for the opportunity to be your partner in the transformation of the health system of our great people,” he concluded.
During “The Pulse of Health”links were made to nine entities to inaugurate hospitals and health centers.
