The commanding general of the Bolivian PoliceÁlvaro Álvarez, reported this Friday that the father of the alleged victim of “human trafficking” and “rape” in an investigation that involves the former president of Bolivia Evo Moraleyes (2006-2019), who did not attend a Thursday summons from the Prosecutorto to testify on this case, it was captured on the eve at his home in the department of Tarija.
Álvarez indicated to local media that for now He does not have an arrest warrant against Morales, leader of the ruling Movement towards Socialism (MAS).
“Yesterday (Thursday) a movement was generated, an arrest of one of the people who is being investigated. It is the father,” indicated the general commander.
Neither Morales nor the parents of the alleged victim attended a summons from the Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday to testify, which is why the departmental prosecutor Sandra Gutiérrez said that “the arrest warrant is going to be issued so that they can appear to present their informative statement.”

According to the complaint that the Bolivian Prosecutor’s Office has in its possession, Morales would have committed the crimes of “human trafficking” and “rape” with a under-age with whom he supposedly had a son.
The victim allegedly belonged to a youth group created by the former president during his presidency called ‘Generation Evo’ and her parents would have given her away (supposedly) to Morales in exchange for political “favors.”
The father of the alleged victim was captured during the night of Thursday at his residence in Yacuiba in the department of Tarija, and Álvarez confirmed that the mother is also being sought to testify in the case.

Social organizations related to Morales warned that if the Prosecutor’s Office issues an arrest warrant against the former president, they will begin an national road blockade.
The former Bolivian president, who is distanced from the Government of President Luis Arce, has stated that he will defend himself in the “legal battle”, which for him is “political persecution” to avoid his presidential candidacy for the 2025 elections.
