Mexico City /

Personnel of the Rescue and Medical Emergency Squad (ERUM) and elements of the Metropolitan Police Unit, Fox Task Force —both from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City— rescued four men who suffered a fall in the area known as the Eagle Peakin the Tlalpan mayor’s office.

Civil Protection (PC) elements also arrived at the scene of the events, who, together with the capital authorities, received the report of four people lost at the top of the hill, located at kilometer 15+500 of the Picacho Ajusco Circuit, in the Santo Tomás Ajusco neighborhood.

How did people know they were lost?

Given these events, officers and emergency services moved to the scene, where, in a place located on the Ajusco Circuit, they met with a man who identified himself as in charge of the area.

The witness confirmed that: “he was aware of four people lost at the top of the place, with whom they were able to communicate by telephone and mentioned that when climbing the mountain they got lost and fell into a rock from which they could no longer leave.”

Given this, the SSC personnel implemented a search plan that consisted of accessing the mountain; However, due to the difficulty of the terrain and the weather, they took four different routes.until they located the men on a rock that was difficult to access.

What is Eagle Peak?

“Located south of Mexico City, in the Tlalpan delegation; Pico del Águila is the second highest point in the Valley of Mexico at 3,880 meters above sea level (masl).
