Tracking map: Will Hurricane Milton hit Miami? Here’s the latest path

Miami-Dade County is outside the forecast cone for Hurricane Milton as of Monday morning, but forecasters warned that the exact track, intensity and timing of the storm remain uncertain and likely to change.

But regardless of development, heavy and prolonged rains are expected across much of the state, including South Florida.

As of Monday morning, the intensity forecast ranged from Category 1 to Category 4 with the track wobbling north and south. Forecasters warned residents along the Gulf coast to have their hurricane survival plans in motion and to prepare for the worst.

The current track shows landfall just south of Tampa Bay, but the cone of uncertainty stretches from the Suwannee River south to Naples. Hurricane, tropical storm and storm surge watches are already posted along a large stretch of Florida’s west coast.
