A two-story building collapsed on Sunday in the morning in Naplesin southern Italy, killing two young brothers and their mother and leaving their grandmother buried under the rubble, authorities said.
A gas explosion is likely the cause of the collapse, firefighters said on their official Telegram channel.

The building “collapsed on itself,” said the mayor of Saviano, Vincenzo Simonelli, who was at the scene and described the situation as “very serious” in statements to local media.
Rescuers had to be “very careful and move slowly to avoid further collapses,” said fire department spokesman Luca Cari.
Media reports said a gas explosion may have triggered the blast that hit the second floor of the building, causing it to collapse and cover the ground floor in debris.
