© @marinareche_How would you describe Marina Reche off stage? How is it different from the Navy we know as an artist?
I think that in my case, I try to make Marina as a person and Marina as an artist be the same. In my songs, I tell stories as I have lived them, literally. Within Marina Reche as an artist is Marina’s humanity, and that is what I think connects so much with people.
There is a clear difference when it comes to writing songs, because in general, my songs are very sad, while I, as a person, am happy and optimistic. However, when writing, I find it easier to talk about sad things that have happened to me, as it seems easier to express those feelings. Curiously, I don’t usually know what to write about when I’m happy, because I don’t dwell as much on the details of those moments. But the sad moments stay with me very much and I visualize them as if they were a complete movie.
© @marinareche_Do you think that remembering only the negative is a current problem for young people?
On stage, I show myself as a happy person, because that’s how I am, but the dramatic, vulnerable and sad Marina is what is reflected in my songs. It’s something I’ve noticed, as I tend to focus more on the negative. I even remember my mother telling me that I was very dramatic, that I reached a point where I thought “I can’t handle life anymore.” And it’s true, sometimes I reflect and say: “damn, shit what happened to me”, and that translates into my lyrics.
What artists or musical references have inspired you the most throughout your life?
Throughout my life, and especially in recent years, I feel that the music my parents listened to has had a great influence on me. Artists like Alejandro Fernández, Cristian Castro, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion were the ones that were played the most at home when I was little, and that music has left an important mark on my way of understanding and feeling music. I listened to artists like Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, and Rihanna, true divas. I remember that I would raise the hem of my shirt and start doing choreography, from below, with all the attitude. It was nothing unusual in my house; My sister and I gave it our all doing dances together, imitating our favorite singers.

In my house, David Bisbal has always been a constant. It’s like we have a sign on our forehead that says ‘David Bisbal’s number one fan’, it’s been part of our life forever. On the other hand, Alejandro Fernández is my mother’s absolute favorite, her “top, top, top.”
How is it living all the good things that are happening to you with your sister?
It has been very nice because we have accompanied each other at all times. It is true that, when I decided to launch my own project, I considered it as a personal challenge, wanting to do it in a way that was different from hers. But nowadays, I love that everyone has their own path and project.
We shared five years on stage, traveling from hotel to hotel, and in the end, it was like being at home because we were always together, as a family. Even in the difficult moments of touring, like the loneliness or the individualism that sometimes comes with it, we shared all of that, and in a way, it was like we were in a constant camp with my sister. So it was a very special experience.
For you, what does success mean?
For me, success in music is being able to convey something that I have experienced and for that song to last forever. The day I’m gone, my voice will still be there, and I think it’s beautiful that family, friends or anyone can hear it. I was asked this very recently, and I realized that success is also receiving a message from my mother saying that she loves the covers or videos that we edit together. Knowing that my family is proud and that I am calm with the team that accompanies me in music, that is success.
Since I was little, my idea of ​​personal success has always been to live in the countryside, with my Dalmatians, my family and my loved ones nearby. Reaching that point of peace, knowing that everything is fine, is my greatest goal. I don’t dream of filling large stadiums, although if it happens, it will be welcome. But for me, real success is being in my little house, surrounded by my loved ones, with my animals and a good specialty coffee maker. I don’t ask for more.
Your lyrics convey great sensitivity and honesty. How do you decide what aspects of your personal life to share with your audience and what you prefer to keep private?
I tell everything, and sometimes that makes me anxious before releasing a song, because I feel like I share too much. But I also think it’s part of the creative and emotional process. If something has happened to me, I write it without filters. When I compose, I don’t plan what I want to talk about, it just emerges. Sometimes I talk about very deep and painful topics, which can be difficult, like opening a wound that has not yet healed. However, in the end, it is liberating. Getting it all out helps me close chapters, and that has happened to me many times.
© @marinareche_If you could give advice to Marina Reche who was just starting out in music, what would you tell her about the challenges and joys that are yet to come?
At present, like Marina Reche, I have been to different festivals and now I have given two concerts in Madrid. I think the most important thing is not to set expectations, be yourself and trust your truth. In the end, what really matters is that you fulfill yourself, not anyone else.
Darkness arrives only three months after ClarityHow did the idea of ​​launching two projects so close but conceptually so opposite come about?
Without looking for anything specific, the themes of the songs emerge naturally. It has been a process of compiling what we have created during this time, and we have titled it Darkness. We realized that it was the B side of Clarity. While Clarity represents a happy moment, a discovery of my sound and identity, Darkness It reflects what he experienced behind the cameras, since he was going through a very difficult breakup.
In Claritythe songs are more happy and general, while in Darknesseach track tells a specific story, and each video is set in the place where it happened. This was all completely organic and unsought. Now, for the tour, I like the idea of ​​presenting Clarity and Darkness together, although it was a challenge to organize everything in such a short time.

Yes, in my concerts I really appreciate the songs of Claritybecause they are very busy. Thinking about a show full of drama and depression seemed overwhelming to me. That’s why I value songs like Gold and Go for youwhich have a more upbeat rhythm.
In Darknesshave I have triedwhich is the most lively on the EP. So on stage, I present a combination of the happy Navy and the sad Navy. I like to present a show that has movement; I didn’t want everything to be tears. Although people like that too, I love to dance a little and keep the energy up.
What has it been like to give concerts and take your music to Latin America?
It was very crazy. The truth is that, while I was there, I was not aware that I had crossed the pond and was on the other side of the world. Upon arriving, I noticed the incredible energy and passion of the people. I notice it especially on the networks, like on Twitter, where I read followers from Mexico, Argentina and Chile who are super present, and I appreciate that a lot.
In the end, I’m just a girl who goes alone, accompanied by my people, to present her project abroad, and I barely have seven songs. I wouldn’t have imagined getting this far so soon, but I’m super happy. Now we’re back again in 2025 and I’m really looking forward to it!

You know what I’m telling you: in a live concert you have to pay attention to everything. You can’t stumble, forget the lyrics or lose connection with the audience. Suddenly, you see someone crying and you realize that that person is living the song intensely. It is a very beautiful experience.
I am very grateful to have the tour now, because I know that it will connect me more directly with people. I try to be a close person on stage, and I enjoy the more intimate concerts more than the big ones. In a small room, you can look at people’s faces and it’s nice to lock eyes with someone who is excited, or to see your friends there. Sometimes I’m so nervous that I don’t cry as much, but there are specific songs that do manage to move me.
