The presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump shocked the world last month. Now, before the ballots start pouring in, each candidate’s running mate will have an opportunity to take the stage and make their case to the nation.
While voters have had the chance to familiarize themselves with Trump and Harris during their respective times in the White House, this upcoming debate will introduce some new faces: Democratic vice presidential candidate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio.
Both candidates have been defined by their unconventional paths to the campaign trail. Walz started his career as a schoolteacher, enlisted in the Army, and then ventured into politics. Vance served as a military journalist before attending Yale Law School and writing a bestselling memoir that would be adapted into the Netflix film Hillbilly Elegy.
On the debate stage, voters will get better acquainted with each candidate’s policies and how they handle high-pressure situations.

Where can I watch the Walz-Vance debate?
The presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris was televised on ABC, but this time around, the vice presidential debate will air on CBS and be available to stream on platforms where CBS News 24/7 and Paramount+ are available.
CBS also announced that the event will also be made available to simulcast.

It has been confirmed that there will not be another vice presidential debate, but the status of a second presidential debate remains up in the air.
Harris has accepted an invitation from CNN to debate Trump on Oct. 23, but Trump declined, declaring on Truth Social that there would be no third debate, later stating it was too late, according to CNN. But, the performances of their running mates could impact their decisions; historically, the presidential candidates get the last word in an election cycle.
