Retired people from Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) receive the bonus paymentbeing one of the benefits established by law, without considering the amount for family allowances or assistance aid.
The increase in the bonus responds to the need to maintain the purchasing power of pensionersconsidering the increasing cost of various items for a decent life.
The minimum guaranteed payment amount in the pension is adjusted annually to the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) allowing beneficiaries to obtain a bonus that reflects current economic conditions.
On the other hand, the general minimum wage in Mexico City is 248 pesos per day, influencing the calculation of the bonus for pensioners. In such a way that retirees will receive a greater amount in their payment.
It is important to mention that The bonus is a right of pensioners and its increase reflects the commitment of the IMSS to recognize the years of work of pensioners to improve quality of life, especially in the economic context.
Retirees who receive an increase in their 2024 bonus
According to the IMSS, pensioners for Unemployment at an advanced age or old age under the protection of the Social Security Law in force until June 30, 1997have the right to receive an annual bonus payment that is equivalent to one monthly payment of the pension amount.
