YouTube raises prices for Premium subscriptions in the Netherlands and Belgium – update

Yes, that may be true and I agree with you. I find the current youtube free unusable.
That does not alter the fact that a “free” product that is artificially (and I think so) made less attractive does not give users the right to circumvent the EULA and install adblockers with the aim of blocking advertisements on free.

I’m not saying it’s like that for you, but for many people it’s just an excuse because they don’t want to pay for services and they think they have a right to certain products. I think in the past we’ve also accelerated the shift to “free” shift because we just don’t want to pay anymore.

I myself have premium individual and I have already reluctantly closed this because premium lite was abolished. I really do not like advertisements and certainly not in the frequency that there is nowadays. I am prepared to pay for that. Even with the abolition of YT premium lite I have already switched to YT premium against my will and thus again youtube music. I tried this product at the time and I consciously switched to

The post from @erique2011 indicates that I will receive a 17% increase; but that follows a further increase from 6.99 to now 13.99. That is a 50% increase. Looking at the post from @teciyi1673 Could Google have really offered its service too cheaply?
Now the question whether Google earns anything with Youtube premium is also an interesting one, I don’t have that data and whether the earnings are justified is subjective and perhaps Google has become too eager, because increases of 10-50% I can’t explain with inflation either.

It’s not just Google. Recently F1TV pro also became 50% more expensive, if that becomes a lot more expensive again in 2025 I will stop it. Youtube does indeed have a lot of advertising revenue and certainly a lot of costs regarding infrastructure. Disney+ no longer connected in terms of content, I stopped it. I thought Netflix was getting too expensive so that was also stopped. But Google does not make content in principle, so they do not have those high costs.

Back to YT. The only thing that will help is if people vote with their wallets and stop using YT altogether (and this will be a bitter pill for me).
