Omroep Flevoland is live today between 07:00 and 17:00 at the Challenge Almere – Amsterdam. This is the largest sporting event in Flevoland, with a total of around 3500 participants.

This 43rd edition will be reported on in a ten-hour broadcast.

Lewis and De Boer lead halfway through the cycling
The athletes are now halfway through the cycling leg, with a total of 180 kilometres to be covered.

In the men’s race, Britain’s Joshua Lewis is in the lead, having passed the 90-kilometre mark after 2 hours, 46 minutes and 33 seconds. Jesper Svensson is the second man in the race, about 2.5 minutes behind. Lukasz Wojt, Florian Angert, Andrew Horsfall-Turner and Ognjen Stojanovic are in a group of four behind.

Almere’s Milan Brons and Pim van Diemen are close behind as a duo, they are more than five minutes behind leader Lewis.

In the women’s race, the Dutch Marlene de Boer is the leader, she passed the 90 kilometer point after 3 hours, 7 minutes and 30 seconds. Jan Uderstadt from Germany and the Swiss Alanis Sifftert are in pursuit. Then follow Magda Nieuwoudt (ZAF) and the British Chloe Sparrow complete the top five.

Swimming
After swimming 3.8 kilometers, the German Lukasz Wojt came out of the water first, in a time of 44 minutes and 45 seconds. Ognjen Stojanovic from Serbia followed one second, he was the first man to reach the measuring point when mounting the bike, in a time of 46 minutes and 3 seconds.

Among the women, Alanis Siffert was the fastest in the swimming event, with a time of 51 minutes and 5 seconds, which meant a new course record. Britain’s Chloe Sparrow was the leader when she got on her bike. Marlene de Boer was third after the swim.
